You cleared FMGE. Congratulations. But there is still one important part of the process you need to complete after the result: getting your documents in order. Your FMGE scorecard and Pass Certificate are not the same document, and knowing the difference matters.
In short
The scorecard shows your marks and result and is downloaded from your applicant login within about a week of the result. The Pass Certificate officially certifies that you qualified and is issued in person after biometric and document verification. NBEMS states the scorecard cannot replace the Pass Certificate for State Medical Council registration, and both carry a six-month window.
One shows your marks and result, while the other is required for the next stage of your registration process. So where do you get each one, do you download both, when do you collect the Pass Certificate, and what happens if you miss the collection window? Let us clear up each of these before you move on to the next step.
FMGE scorecard vs Pass Certificate: what is the difference?
The two documents serve different purposes, so do not treat them as interchangeable.
| FMGE Scorecard | FMGE Pass Certificate | |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Shows your marks and result | Officially certifies that you have qualified the FMGE |
| How you get it | Download through your applicant login | Issued after in-person verification |
| In-person verification | Not required for downloading | Required |
| State Medical Council registration | Cannot replace the Pass Certificate | Required for the applicable registration process |
The June 2026 FMGE Information Bulletin specifically states that the scorecard cannot be produced instead of the FMGE Pass Certificate for registration with a State Medical Council. So if you have qualified, downloading your scorecard is only one part of the process; you still need to complete the Pass Certificate process. If you want to revisit the basics of the examination before moving on to the post-result steps, you can read our FMGE Exam Pattern 2026: Subjects, Scheme and Passing Criteria guide.
How to download your FMGE scorecard
Your scorecard is the easier of the two documents to obtain. Once the result is declared, you can access your individual scorecard through the applicant login using your User ID and Password. The June 2026 Information Bulletin states that the scorecard is likely to be available within one week of the result declaration.
Wait for release. The individual scorecard is likely to be available within one week of result declaration.
Open the applicant login. Go to the official NBEMS website and open the FMGE applicant login.
Sign in using your User ID and Password.
Open and download your individual scorecard, and save a copy for your records.
Download it within six months
NBEMS keeps the scorecard available for download for six months from the date of result declaration. After six months, requests to provide the scorecard will not be entertained. So do not just check whether you passed and leave it there: log in, download your scorecard, and save it somewhere you can access easily later.

How do you get the FMGE Pass Certificate?
This is where the process is different. You do not simply download your FMGE Pass Certificate from your applicant login. Candidates who qualify for the FMGE are issued the Screening Test Pass Certificate by NBEMS after in-person verification of their biometric and Face ID records and the required documents.
For the June 2026 session, NBEMS published a separate schedule for the in-person distribution of Pass Certificates. The exact schedule and instructions are communicated through official NBEMS notices, so keep checking the official updates after the result. Before you go for the verification, check the entry slip issued for Pass Certificate collection carefully, as it will tell you what you need to carry for the verification process. This is one situation where you should not rely on a random checklist circulating in a student group; the requirements applicable to your session should always come from the official NBEMS instructions. Qualifying the examination and completing the Pass Certificate process are therefore two separate steps, so once you see that you have passed, do not consider the entire post-result process finished just yet.
What happens after you receive your FMGE Pass Certificate?
Once you complete the verification and receive your Pass Certificate, keep it safely with your other important medical documents. Your scorecard cannot replace the Pass Certificate for State Medical Council registration. Think of the process simply:
Your result tells you whether you passed, your scorecard records your marks, and the Pass Certificate is the document you need for the next stage of the registration process. There is also a timeline you need to remember.
The Pass Certificate also has a six-month limit
For the June 2026 session, candidates who qualified but could not collect their Pass Certificate according to the assigned distribution schedule were allowed to collect it within six months from the date of result declaration. If the certificate was still not collected within that period, the bulletin states that the candidature and result for that session would be deemed cancelled, with no further opportunity to collect the certificate.
That makes one thing very clear: do not ignore the Pass Certificate schedule after you qualify. Keep checking the official NBEMS website for updates, notices, and the schedule applicable to your session. Once you receive the certificate, keep it safely with your other important medical documents and proceed with the applicable registration process. You have already done the difficult part by clearing the examination. Now make sure the paperwork does not become the reason your next step gets delayed.
